Bio: Seth Wood lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. A tattooer by trade since 1999, his work on skin is highly regarded by collectors worldwide, and, in 2008, he was dubbed “the American master” by Tattoo Life magazine. Seth’s paintings are inextricably connected to his life in tattooing, either in their visual reflection of his tattoo designs, or by their utility, serving as promotional materials for tours, conventions, and guest residencies. Typically, these works are visual narratives, exploring the space between natural history field guides, mythology, and children’s fables, with an ever-present nod to traditional tattoo design and iconography. Seth has no formal art training, but earned his BA in sociology from Trinity College (Connecticut) in 1999.
